CRYSTAL PROPERTIES

Since ancient times people have been drawn to crystals for their beauty and believed healing properties. To enhance my candles, I adorn them with many of the crystals listed below. If the crystal on your candle is quite large, remove it once it has loosened after your first burn and incorporate it into your crystal practice!

	Amazonite A soothing stone that calms the mind. Balances the masculine and feminine energies. It can also help you to see both sides of a problem or different points of view.
	Amethyst Powerful and protective, it is a natural tranquillizer, that soothes fear and anxiety. It can also aid in activating spiritual awareness and enhancing psychic abilities.
	Aquamarine The crystal of courage. Calms energy, reduces stress, quiets the mind and has an affinity with sensitive people. Clarifies perception and sharpens intellect.
	Aragonite A stabilizing stone that centres and grounds physical energies. It is especially useful in times of stress. It helps to prepare for meditation and stabilizes spiritual development.
	Beach Glass While not a crystal it is a perfect product of man and nature. Charged with the spiritual healing of water it is a wonderful treasure that evokes calm, peace, and tranquillity.
	Black Obsidian A truth-enhancing stone. It is strongly protective and shields against negativity. It draws out mental stress and tension while stimulating growth on all levels.
	Black Tourmaline Repels and protects against negative energy. It enhances physical well-being by providing increased physical vitality, emotional stability and intellectual acuity.
	Blue Apatite A manifestation stone. It is attuned to the future, yet connects to past lives. It stimulates spiritual attunement, deepens meditation and opens the throat chakra.

	Satin Spar Often sold as Selenite, it does have similar properties, except true selenite is stronger. Satin Spar has a filamented look, while Satin Spar is clear and glassy in appearance.
	Selenite Shields from outside influences and dispels negative energy while providing clarity. The powerful energies of Selenite help one connect with one's guides and higher self.
	Smokey Quartz In addition to the healing properties of Quartz, Smokey Quartz is an excellent grounding stone. It brings emotional calmness, relieving stress and anxiety.
